Distinction between SB and BB in Valgrind

I understand that the basic difference between a super block and a basic block is related to exit points (SBs can have multiple exit points). Given that, I saw a number of places where the SB has been used as a BB. In other words, the treatment of an SB has been identical to the way a BB would have been treated. Is there something that I'm missing here?
